Cub Scout STEM-OREE

 

featuring programs with NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, & DelMarVa Discovery Museum

Join us for the Cub Scout STEM-OREE!

Experience science and nature behind the scenes for education and fun!

This $40/person program includes: Saturday activities at NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center (FFVC) and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, Sunday activities at the Delmarva Discovery Museum, and primitive camping at Chincoteague Island KOA Saturday night (Friday night camping is available for $6 per person).


Arrive with all of the necessary items including tents, sleeping bags, pillow, toiletries, and clothing for the weekend. Pack and dress for the weather. 

 

PLEASE NOTE- All transportation between the KOA, NASA Wallops FFVC, the Wildlife Refuge, and the Delmarva Discovery Museum is the responsibility of the participants. All meals will be the responsibility of the participants. 

 

Saturday Programs include:

NASA WFF Visitor Center - The NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center features exhibits about aeronautics, orbital and sub-orbital rockets, scientific balloons, current missions, and the history of Wallops Flight Facility. In addition to exhibits, the Visitor Center also features an auditorium, a Science on the Sphere Theater and a rooftop observation deck.

Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge – Self-tour using age-appropriate activity booklets all day from 6a-8p. Visitor Centers are open from 9a-5p. Bicycles allowed. Please wear a helmet and be courteous to pedestrians!

Budding Naturalist Activity Book (age 8 and under): Downloadable from our registration page, print and bring along!

Junior Refuge Manager Activity Booklet (ages 8-10): Downloadable from our registration page, print and bring along!

Light House Tour available 9 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

*You will receive a toll waiver (one per car) at check-in for use to enter the refuge.

 

Sunday Program includes:

DelMarVa Discovery Museum - Located on the Pocomoke River in downtown Pocomoke City, the Delmarva Discovery Center & Museum (Delmarva Discovery Center & Museum) is a living museum, a place for learning and discovery for visitors of all ages. The immersive and engaging exhibits take visitors on a timeless journey through Delmarva and through the Cypress Swamp. The exhibits focus on the river ecology and the human history of the Pocomoke River and Delmarva. The Delmarva Discovery Center & Museum continues to add to its unique collection, offering return visitors something new to discover each time they visit. The Delmarva Discovery Center & Museum offers a regular schedule of programs, tours, and presentations to families, school classes, youth groups, and other visitors.

Cancellation Policy
Eligible refund requests must be received in writing at last 2 weeks prior the event. There will be no refunds on cancellations within 2 weeks of the event regardless of the reason except in the case of a medical emergency. Medical refunds must include a doctor's note.
