This course is taught during Day #1 of the Elkton Merit Badge College.

This course is intended to provide Troop leadership with the information and tools they need to lead successful Boy Scout troops. Scoutmasters and Assistants Scoutmasters who complete this training, Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, and Youth Protection training are considered "trained". 

This training consists of the following main sections:

1.  Role of the Scoutmaster in the Boy-led Troop

2.  Outdoor Programs and the Advancement Program

3.  Program Planning and Troop Administration

Cancellation Policy
Refunds: All refund requests should be directed to Del-Mar-Va Council Outdoor Programs, 1910 Baden Powell Way, Dover DE 19904. PARTIAL REFUNDS for Scouts not attending the event program will be given only if the unit notifies the Outdoor Program Office in writing at least 14 days prior to the unit's scheduled arrival date at the event. There will be no refund for cancellations within two weeks of the event attendance except for medical reasons. Partial refunds for cancellations due to medical reasons will require a doctor's note.
