Gifts In Kind
Gifts in kind can be an integral part of helping the Del-Mar-Va Council deliver quality programs and services to our community.
Rather than a cash gift, specific budget items can be provided such as office supplies (paper, computer supplies, envelopes, etc.), food items for camp (chicken, frozen foods, etc.) and other materials for camp (lumber, paint, etc.). Items contributed are assigned their fair market value. Gift in kind items are those that are needed by the Council during the current budget year.
Needed services are also welcome, such as printing, vehicle maintenance, etc. Donated services are those that are needed by the Council during the current budget year.
Campership Fund
Teaching Scouts to become self-reliant – “A Scout is Thrifty” – is an integral part of training our youth members. Scouts are expected to earn their own way in Scouting. Camp Scholarships help Scouts experience the dream of a lifetime. A scholarship of $150 supplements one full week of Summer Camp for a deserving Scout. $300 sponsors two Scouts and $450 sponsors three Scouts. Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement, once said “A week of camp life is worth six months of theoretical teaching in the meeting room.” It is these experiences that helps today’s youth develop into tomorrow’s leaders.
