School Year Programs

Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the youth doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting – citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness.
Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.

WEEKEND CAMPING

Summer Programs

Camping at the Cub Scout level introduces Scouts to the outdoors and helps them develop outdoor skills at an age-appropriate level that will be applied more thoroughly as a Scout. As Cub Scouts progress, the opportunities for outdoor adventures become more challenging.

Cub Scout Summer Overnight Camp

“Camping allows us to escape the bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature.”

Summer camp is an exciting and fun-filled experience for kids, and Cub Scout Summer Camp at Henson Scout Reservation is no exception. Our summer camp offers a wide variety of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and more. With a wide range of activities and programs, we offer something for everyone, from water activities and outdoor adventures to shooting sports and arts. Our trained and experienced staff members are dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive environment where campers can make new friends and learn new skills.

Cub Scout Day Camp

Day camp is organized by the council and is a five-day program for Cub Scouts. It is conducted under certified leadership at an approved site and during daylight or early evening hours. Day camp does not include any overnight activities. Certification of the day camp director and program director is provided through the National Camping School.

Day camp programs are theme-based and usually include nature, sports, aquatics, and crafts. Den and pack leaders often make up the nucleus of the day camp staff.

Campership Application due by April 1.
