Wear the "RED". Be part of the Camp Rodney Tradition!

Camp Staff Tryouts

Instead of a traditional employment interview, if you are a prospective staff member under the age of 18, you will be invited to an upcoming “Tryout” so we can better evaluate your skills as a potential staff member and so you can become more familiar with the job of a staff member. We hope you will use this opportunity to evaluate your personal commitment to serving on the summer staff at Rodney Scout Reservation. Your attendance does not guarantee employment.

After you apply, you will receive an email inviting you to one of our tryout weekends. You will only need to attend one. During the weekend you will have an opportunity to meet several returning staff and alumni as well as many of your fellow staff candidates. You will learn about the Rodney Staff culture, you will conduct a service project as a team, you will plan and conduct a campfire, you will have an opportunity to teach a skill or topic (please come prepared to teach for about 5-7 minutes and bring all materials you will need to teach that skill), you will get a chance to ask the current staff members questions you may have about the summer staff experience, and much more.

Please come prepared to show us the very best that you have to offer as Rodney Staff member. Please also know that this will be a very busy and long day (just like our days at camp).

Please also note that your parents are invited to a question and answer session with the Camp Director and returning staff at the conclusion of the day. It is mandatory that one (1) parent attend this meeting.
