Happy New Year!!

Lots of exciting happenings in Del-Mar-Va Council as we move into 2009! It is great that you are a part of the success!!

NEW TOUR PERMIT POLICY ADOPTED EFFECTIVE 1-1-09

On recommendation of the council Risk Management Committee the Executive Board recently approved changes to our local tour permit policy. The major change affecting Del-Mar-Va units is that tour permits are NO LONGER REQUIRED FOR DEL-MAR-VA COUNCIL UNITS GOING TO EITHER RODNEY OR HENSON OR ANY OFFICIAL DISTRICT ACTIVITY FOR WHICH THE UNIT HAS PRE-REGISTERED. The full revised policy is located on the Resources Tab of the Council website under the Camping & Activities Library Documents and by clicking here

In addition - TOUR PERMIT PROCESSING is now online! Effective January 5, through the MyScouting.org website provided by the National office a tour permit processing site will be available for easy - postage free - tour permit processing. Instructions for opening a MyScouting.org account are on the home page of that site. Addtional information was available in the last Buzz! and a PowerPoint tutorial is available from the Resources Tab of the Council website and by clicking here. Regular processing of those applications will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays by Customer Service Specialist Wanda Lafferty. Stop by the Wilmington Scout Shop, Email, or call Wanda for assistance at extension 130. Wanda's hours are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Once the online system is proven effective and user friendly, paper processing of Tour Permit applications will end completely.
