Day Camp Staff Application Job Descriptions Staff Salary Chart

Why be a staff member?  There are many important reasons why you should consider becoming a staff member at one of our Del-Mar-Va Council day camps. Most of all is the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of Scouts and their parents. Other reasons are to become a better person, to learn more about yourself, to develop lifelong friendships, and not the least, to have fun!

What type of positions are available?  We have several leadership and management positions, health officer, trading post manager, and program specialists (which cover a wide range of instruction and activities for our scouts). We also have volunteer roles to fill at each day camp, for both adults and youth. Youth volunteers will receive credit for volunteer service hours.

How much money could I make?  The Del-Mar-Va Council Camps follow a staff salary chart to ensure individuals are properly compensated based on age and experience. Click here for the day camp staff salary chart. Amounts on the chart represent a per week rate. To calculate your total salary take the weekly rate and multiple by the number of weeks you will work.

Are there any age requirements?  Yes. Counselors-in-training must be at least 14 years of age in accordance with BSA National Guidelines. Younger Boy Scout volunteers may serve at the discretion of the Camp Director.

Do I have to be a Scout to work at day camp?  Yes. All staff members must be registered members of the Boy Scouts in accordance with BSA National Guidelines. Applicants that aren't currently registered with the Boy Scouts may do so by joining the Camp's Venturing Crew.
