VIRTUAL PINEWOOD DERBY

STEP 1. Register your car by May 8th to participate in the 2021 Pinewood Derby held in Centreville, MD on May 15, 2021. Click Register on the bottom of this page and pay the fee.

STEP 2. Upload your car photo by May 8th for the online Car Design Voting Contest run May 10 - May 13, 2021. https://bit.ly/ChoptankPWD2021

STEP 1 Details:

WHEN:    Saturday, May 15, 2021 – Virtual RACE DAY (NOT live streamed),

     Watch the event on YouTube starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 16 (LINK WILL BE EMAILED OUT TO PARTICIPANTS)

WHO:     Individual Cubs whose Pack did not hold a Pinewood Derby in 2021 

               Racers winning 1st, 2nd, 3rd place from each rank of the Pack's Pinewood Derby in 2021

WHERE:  Car drop off on 5/14 and 5/15, car pick up 5/15  - Queenstown 4-H Park, 100 Dulin Clark Rd (off Rt 18), Centreville

COST:     Early registration is $5/car until Saturday, May 1^st; after that $10/car until May 8th

DEADLINES:     Early on-line registration Saturday, May 1^st

                           Final on-line registration is Saturday, May 8^th

SCHEDULE:     

• Saturday, May 1

  • EARLY on-line registration DEADLINE. Register your car below and pay the fee - $5. After May 1^st the car entry fee increases from $5 to $10 per car. 

• Saturday, May 8

  • Online Registration DEADLINE. Register your car below and pay the fee - $10.

  • Upload a photo of your car for the Car Design contest here https://bit.ly/ChoptankPWD2021

• Monday, May 10 – Thursday, May 13

  • Online voting for best car designs in ten different categories.

• Friday, May 14

  • 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. set up the car Check-In table and event decorations (organizers & helpers).

  • 6 – 8 p.m.  Set up the race track and computer equipment and testing (organizers and helpers).

  • 6:30 – 8 p.m.  Check-in of cars that cannot be checked in on Saturday morning and eligibility determination at 4-H Park (parents with or without cub scouts)

• Saturday, May 15

  • 9 – 11 am – Main Check-in of cars and eligibility determination at 4-H Park (parents with or without cub scouts)

  •  Noon – 3 p.m. Races and results tracking by Adult Scouters. No Cubs nor their Parents will be allowed in the hall. The race will be videotaped for YouTube showing. Race winners will be emailed (organizers & helpers)

  • 4 – 6 pm – Car pick-up by whomever dropped them off. CUB SCOUTS WITH WINNING CARS SHOULD WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS, IF POSSIBLE – FOR PICTURES (parents and cub scouts). Parents who are unable to pick up the car on Saturday, please contact (Sandy Blades, sandy_blades@yahoo.com, 410-253-1629) to arrange pick up at a later date.

  • 5pm - 7pm - Hall clean up (organizers & helpers).

• Sunday, May 16

  • Starting at 4 pm, the 2021 Choptank District Pinewood Derby will be available for watching on YouTube. Search for it by name.
